Minnawarra Art Award

My artwork Grasping for what’s still available was selected for the 2025 Minnawarra Art Award and won the Highly Commended Prize.

“This entangled duo, Grasping for what’s still available, is a visual representation of the land being cleared for agricultural purposes and explores the effects of these colonial techniques on the natural environment. By appropriating natural forms in an attempt to highlight the beauty of the hidden and unassuming, and by purposely making with slow, repetitive movements, these hand built ceramic objects highlight and honour the time it takes the environment to both recover and flourish. The organic flow of the natural flora is replaced by the strangling form adorned in lines from fencing, mapping and cropping.”
