Held annually at the Zig Zag Gallery, the Kalamunda Art Awards is a supportive arts prize that will showcase a diverse range of multi-disciplinary artworks from talented artists around Western Australia.

My artwork Over Growth was selected for the exhibition, exploring the following....
“In an attempt to reclaim the landscape, Over Growth speculates a future where native Australian flora species collectively evolve to over come their biggest competitor; humans. Commenting on the aggressive nature the Australian construction and mining industries currently find them selves in, the sprawl of the ceramic growth theorises the next steps in our natural environments’ evolution. A future where the environment no longer struggles under the weight of human interference and harnesses the built infrastructure as its host, growing new foliage in clay and cement that it leaches from the foundations of the walls.”
