The Golden Wattle Hookers as part of the Gifted Exhibition at the Mundaring Arts Centre
The Golden Wattle Hookers are a mother and daughter collaborative duo who create crocheted and crochet inspired artworks. We are interested in not only creating crocheted forms, but also the communities crocheting can creates, its various histories from around the world, experimenting with materials and methods, and the drawn patterns used to create crochet.
During the exhibition of our Decadent Vessels, we spent several days in the gallery as artists in residence. Continuing our various crocheted projects, we were also able to demonstrate the importance of communities for craft techniques such as crochet.
