Elusive Tactility : Part II


A second facade to the first Elusive Tactility held at the Butter Factory Studios in Denmark, Western Australia.


Reflecting the makers hands in the materials, this body of work explores the current critique of ancient craft techniques with in the contemporary art scene. With particular focus on combining crochet with ceramics, the use of repetitive movements from these craft’s emphasise an engagement in highly laborious and time consuming projects. A conscious repetitiveness of mark making. With a tactile and enigmatic presence, these sculptures' attempt to engage the viewer in a conversation on the importance of Craft in not just Visual Art, but in our development as community based beings.
